The expanded program offers connection options to cloud providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Softlayer.
According to the Zayo Group, this platform simplifies cloud connectivity and helps customers operate a hybrid cloud. Through Zayo’s network, users can access secure, high-bandwidth connectivity that provides a better cloud experience. Customers can also connect to their private data centres with the same network that they have used in the past.
“More and more companies are relying on some form of cloud computing,” said John Real, VP, strategic channels at Zayo Group, in a press release. “It’s clear that the business landscape is changing, and with so much critical business intelligence now residing in the cloud, it is crucial to have reliable network connectivity. Zayo’s Connect to the Cloud platform provides that connectivity.”
In 2011, Zayo started providing direct bandwidth up to 10G via the AWS Direct Connect portal. In 2013, it announced a technology partnership with Amazon Partner Network (APN) through which Zayo provides private networks to enable connectivity between AWS Direct Connect locations.
The company’s fiber optic network is 77,000 route miles which includes 14,000 on-net buildings with connectivity to data centres and carrier hotels in the U.S.
Zayo says it still is adding in new cloud providers and giving them many connection options including Ethernet, and IP VPN.
