President Obama and his wife have brought the White House to our devices by using virtual reality. In collaboration with Facebook’s Oculus, the outgoing president has presented to the world the opportunity to view some of the most historical rooms in the “House” that is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
The White House has been the official residence of every president of the United States of America since John Adams, the second U.S. president, a place where many decisions were made that have shaped the history of the world over the past 200 years.
Today, you can experience the White House through the eyes of technology. This video is just over eight minutes in length, if you think this is super awesome, then you will be truly excited to know that a longer 20-minute version will be releasing later this year, according to the VR studio Felix & Paul, which filmed the experience. To whet your appetite further, the future version will be in 3-D with adding more depth and sharpness than the current video.
Go head, take a look at the video and you will get a 360-degree view of what it feels like to be sitting in the Oval Office.
Use your mouse or fingers to shift your view around.
“This house belongs to you, and to every American. For eight years, just a short chapter in the long story of our democracy, my family also had the privilege of calling the White House home.” —President Obama. Join the President and the First Lady for a preview of a 360° tour of the White House taking you into some of the most historic rooms of the People’s House, from the Situation Room to the Oval Office.
