“2Checkout has been a pivotal product for WooCommerce merchants in enabling customers to check out in a variety of currencies,” said head of business development at WooThemes Joel Bronkowski, in a press release. “2Checkout has changed the payments landscape for sellers across the globe. We are truly excited to present our customer base with the latest integration for 2Checkout built by the ninjas at WooThemes.”
Through this partnership, the companies say, WooCommerce merchants in almost 200 countries can accept payments in 26 currencies with enhance conversion rates on a hosted platform.
Unlike the traditional standalone payment platform, the 2Checkout payment platform is an overlay on the merchant’s website and maintains the branded look of the merchant’s website design, without redirecting visitors to another page. The payment platform also adapts the checkout page for smartphones and tablets for enhanced accessibility.
“WooThemes’ WooCommerce is the premier WordPress plugin for e-commerce, known for its ease-of-implementation and simplicity,” shared Kevin Gallagher, SVP, business development, 2Checkout. “We’re thrilled to partner with one of the largest e-commerce platforms to reach merchants in nearly every country in the world.”
The companies believe this integration will alleviate many merchants’ PCI compliance burden as their servers never hold the cardholder’s data. To minimize loss, enhanced fraud protection comes along at no addition cost.
Customers who pay via 2Checkout and sign up for WooThemes will get a credit for the WooThemes plugin, until November 20, 2014.
