Customers will be able to rapidly analyze data sets in the cloud with the conjoined use of the Intel Distribution for Apache Hadoop, Virtustream’s xStream cloud management software and Virtustream’s HANA Managed Service.
By combining SAP HANA’s accelerated reporting and analytics with Hadoop’s ability to process large data sets, customers will gain agility, scalability, and a consumption-based pricing model.
Furthermore, with access to HANA and Hadoop engineers and no CapEx requirement, the solution can be set up and deployed within a matter of weeks. The Virtustream portfolio also has the ability to migrate SAP applications to the cloud.
“Both HANA and Hadoop offer extremely valuable toolsets for enterprises, and Virtustream’s xStream cloud software is able to further enhance the technologies by providing a secure environment for the solutions to run at a significantly faster rate,” said Michael Hoch, senior vice president, Cloud Advisory Services, Virtustream. “Collaborating with Intel to develop the HANA-Hadoop solution expands our capabilities in the big data market, as we continue to provide enterprises with the mission-critical and production solutions they need to meet today’s business demands.”
Virtustream will be showcasing a live demonstration of their HANA-Hadoop Managed Service and big data analytics at the SAP TechED show floor from October 22 to 25.
