Univa and Penguin Computing announce reseller agreement 

Univa is a data centre automation company. Its new partner, Penguin Computing, provides high performance and enterprise computing solutions. Following the agreement, Penguin Computing becomes an authorized reseller of Univa’s Grid Engine software. Grid Engine is a platform for resource management, used by both enterprise and research organizations. The software allows businesses to efficiently share workloads across machines in a data centre to maximize existing computing resources.

“At Penguin Computing, we have a long history of providing our customers with best of breed solutions that make an immediate impact and provide a substantial return on investment,” said Charles Wuischpard, president and CEO of Penguin Computing. “Univa’s Grid Engine software is no exception as many of our existing customers have been using this proven workload management solution to optimize their workloads. In recent years, Univa has earned their reputation as the “home of Grid Engine” and we are pleased to offer their innovative and stable solutions.”

In addition to Univa’s flagship product, Penguin Computing will also provide customers with Univa’s tools to optimize testing and simulation licenses as well as reporting and analysis solutions.

Grid Engine celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. Also this year, Univa completed the acquisition of all Grid Engine assets and intellectual property, making it the sole commercial provider of Grid Engine.
