The merger will see both companies and their respective products united under Planbox’s name. BrainBank’s Idealink will now be known as PlanBox Agile, with BrainBank CEO Ludwig Melik assuming the same leading role in the new company.
Brainbank is one of the first platforms for cloud-based innovation, while Planbox is an agile management tool.
“The combined offering will allow us to benefit our mutual clients since innovation and agile project management go hand in hand,” said Melik. “Being agile provides the flexibility that organizations need to bring innovation to fruition by iterating and experimenting on explored and developing ideas.”
Agile project management is a growing industry that Planbox intends to capitalize on. Application Lifecycle Managenment (ALM) software is expected to reach $1.1 billion by 2017 and, because Agile is a key component of ALM, the market is promising.
Previously, agile project management tools appealed only to the complex requirements of software development businesses. Now, more robust functionality means that all users can draw benefit.
“Agile disrupted project management in software development teams more than a decade ago,” Melik explained. “Now Planbox, with its simplicity, can make agile the new standard in innovation management and project work across the enterprise.”
