The shakers of America met at a private island resort off the coast of Georgia for the American Enterprise Institute’s annual World Forum. This forum was closed to the press but according sources the item at the top of the agenda was how to stop Donald Trump.
Those that were in attendance include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google co-founder Larry Page, Napster creator and Facebook investor Sean Parker, and Tesla Motors and SpaceX Elon Musk. From the Republican side, those that attended were Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, political guru Karl Rove and House Speaker Paul Ryan to name a few.
The highlight of the forum was a presentation made by Rove. He talked about Trump’s greatest weakness which is that voters are having a very hard time envisioning him as “presidential” and as somebody their children should look up to.
But Trump was not the only topic on the agenda. According to sources there was a fierce debate between GOP Sen. Tom Cotton and Tim Cook on cell phone encryption. This is not surprising given the ongoing court battle between the FBI and Apple.
