“The dramatic rise we and organizations are seeing in the amount of unstructured, human-generated data in recent years, and the lack of visibility into who is actually using the data are essential components of data storage, data management, and enterprise security and risk management,” Kyle Kennedy, chief technology officer of STEALTHbits Technologies said in a press release.
“The integration of StealthAUDIT with EMC Isilon OneFS 7.1 truly provides organizations insight and control over their data like never before by effectively managing, securing, and protecting their Isilon storage environment,” Kennedy added. “STEALTHbits Technologies is excited to offer customers these new features and capabilities within the StealthAUDIT solution.”
Recent statistics from IDC, Forrester and Gartner reveal that unstructured data comprises 80 per cent of data generated and stored by companies. Gartner forecasts the amount of unstructured data will spike within the next five years, increasing by as much as 800 per cent.
EMC and STEALTHbits hope that the pairing will enable businesses to take control of their data. The platform also allows network administrators to limit access to certain data, deep storage and asses the risks associated with the storing and transferring of sensitive corporate data.
