SAP launches subscription services for SAP HANA, talks “green cloud”

SAP launches subscription services for SAP HANA, talks “green cloud”

“Today is a significant step forward for SAP’s transformation, as we are not only emphasizing our commitment to the cloud with new subscription offerings for SAP HANA, we are also increasing the choice and simplicity to deploy SAP HANA,” said Vishal Sikka, member, Executive Board, SAP AG, Products & Innovation. “In addition, we are expanding our global presence with a comprehensive in memory-centric data center plan, dramatically simplifying our customers’ IT landscapes.”

The SAP Business Suite, the SAP Business Warehouse application, and the SAP HANA platform are all being offered securely from SAP data centres around the world, providing customers with the ability to run their SAP applications in a private managed cloud environment.

With this new service, customers will be able to take full advantage of the SAP Business Suite without sacrificing the flexibility and user experience afforded by the cloud.

Additionally, SAP is offering enhanced cloud migration services to its customers, which includes options for integration to on-premise SAP applications and other SAP cloud solutions.

The company also announced that, although it already operates 16 data centres across the world, it is launching a comprehensive data centre plan that will span four continents. It opened the first of its new data centres in Japan earlier this month: one in Tokyo and one in Osaka.

It also indicated that, starting this year, it will be powering all of its data centres with 100 per cent renewable electricity so that its customers can operate their systems from a “green” cloud.
