Microsoft has announced the availability of a new PC build just in time for the long weekend. Beginning now, Windows Insiders can test and experiment with the new Build 10162 to provide valuable feedback to the Microsoft team.
Arriving hot on the heels of the Build 10159 that was released last Tuesday, Build 10162 exceeds all previous models in terms of reliability, performance, compatibility and battery life.
Microsoft’s Fast ring is a cadence option that allows members to receive new builds and updates immediately after their validation. Those who want to test the waters but with more stability can opt to join the Slow ring, which reports less bugs and glitches.
“It is actually important sometimes to get a few days on a build so that all of the code that does deferred work – like OneDrive sync, search indexing, background updating, etc. – can run and we can get feedback and error reports,” said Gabe Aul, General Manager of the OSG Data and Fundamentals team.
Should the Fast ring release go smoothly, Microsoft anticipates that the Build 10162 arrive to the Slow ring early next week.
