Ingenico has been in collaboration with Moneris for 15 years and deployed Telium 2 products across Moneris’ national network in the first half of 2014.
“We’re very pleased that Moneris has once again demonstrated their confidence in our payment solutions,” said David Chaudhari, MD of Ingenico Canada, in a press release, “and that they have chosen us to introduce the first and only smartphone-based mPOS solution in Canada leveraging our new Ingenico Mobile Solutions brand.”
Through the Telium 2 line, Moneris recently offered businesses an mPOS solution in combination with Ingenico’s EMV-ready contactless mobile POS solution.
The two companies have joined forces to provide what they believe is today’s merchants’ current growing requirement – mPOS solutions. Moneris spokespeople noted that the company has seen mobile payment adoption grow at an average of 10 percent monthly since January 2013.
“PAYD PRO is the first payment solution in Canada to give businesses a simple and reliable solution to process EMV credit and debit transactions with tablets or smartphones,” added Rob Cameron, Chief Product and Marketing Officer, Moneris Solutions, in a press release. “We have a long-term, trusted relationship with Ingenico Group, and rely on their expertise in developing mPOS solutions so that we can offer Canadian merchants, particularly small businesses, access to secure and innovative payment acceptance. Initial feedback on this joint solution is very positive and promising.”
With PAYD PRO, merchants can use smartphones and tablets to receive Interac Debit and credit card payments through the EMV chip and PIN system, swipe and contactless acceptance technology.
This capability is currently available on the Apple iOS platform and will be available on Android in fall 2014.
