HP unveils two new point-of-sale products

HP unveils two new point-of-sale products

“In today’s dynamic marketplace, flexibility and reliability are critical for retailers and hospitality operators to meet the needs of their customers,” said Ray Carlin, VP and GM, Retail Solutions, HP. “The RP2 and RP5 deliver performance and functionality while being designed to withstand harsh retail and hospitality environments.”

The 14-inch RP2 boasts Quad-Core Intel processors, along with an IP54-qualified, fanless design to prevent dust, liquid, and other matter from getting into the device. It is also customizable: business owners can install their favoured operating system, and will also have a wider range of choice thanks to its expanded portfolio of configurable peripherals.

The RP5, for its part, has been around for quite some time in the retail and hospitality sectors, but the upgraded product comes with some new bells and whistles that should be of interest to business owners. The Model 5810 is equipped with fourth-generation Intel Core processors, up to 32 GB of RAM, and expansive storage options. Like the RP2, it also offers users a choice of operating system.

Additionally, says HP, users will experience greater customization, flexibility, security and manageability. The product can be tailored using a variety of connectivity options, peripherals and expansion add-ons. It also has “easy built-in features that reduce the complexity and costs associated with managing a POS solution.”

The Model 5810 is currently available worldwide, and the RP2 is expected to be available in July.
