HP introduces encryption solutions

“As organizations embrace the New Style of IT, protecting sensitive information as it moves within and outside the enterprise becomes more critical than ever before,” said Art Gilliland, SVP and GM, Enterprise Security Products, HP. “Building on decades of leadership in information protection, we are now extending the scale and power of HP Atalla’s encryption technology from the data center to the cloud—safeguarding data regardless of where it resides.”

HP says the solutions are designed for industries that handle a lot of sensitive data—notably the health care industry, financial institutions, governments, retailers and energy companies—and are equally capable of protecting unstructured data, such as emails and payment information.

The company is also introducing HP Secure Encryption with HP Enterprise Secure Key Manager (ESKM) 4.0, which will help businesses keep track of their various encryption keys by unifying and automating encryption controls. The ESKM provides security controls, automated key services and a single point of management to ensure a reduction in cost and complexity.

HP is also covering encryption in the cloud with Atalla Cloud Encryption, which “reduces the complexity of encryption and key management in public, private and hybrid cloud environments with split-key encryption.” It can also be integrated with HP Enterprise Secure Key Manager.

HP Secure Encryption and HP Atalla Cloud Encryption are currently available worldwide.
