HP drops Salesforce for Microsoft Dynamics 

With this six-year agreement, HP is looking to undertake a journey to deliver a smooth sales experience for customers and partners, and to increase productivity and collaboration in the online world. With this shift, the company is looking to “deliver a more effective and efficient collaboration engine across our business,” according to Jon Flaxman, chief operating officer at HP.

This switch came about as HP has been re-evaluating its entire operation to see if there is a better way to improve productivity and management of operations within the company. Dion Weisler, president and CEO, of HP in chatting with Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella on stage at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on Monday said that they have been using Salesforce for a long time but then decided to relook at what they are using for sales and to see if there is a better way. He went on to explain to the 1300 partners in the audience that, “Microsoft earned this business and he wasn’t about to give it away.” He then went on to say that this is because, “it gives us a real 360-degree view of our entire sales motion,” from the time of creating a quote all the way to the end and everything in between.

But how will the partners benefit from Microsoft Dynamics platform collectively? This question was posed to Nadella who said, “Architecturally, the way we are building Office 365, Dynamics 365 and Azure is not as three different things but one connected cloud architecture, ultimately to help customers in their digital transformation.”

The exciting thing for the partners though is, “as you [HP] streamline with your own tools then there is partner opportunity, it is ultimately about your revenue, you are not doing this just to have a new system but you are doing this so as to have a business process that is fundamentally more efficient.”

Dion Weisler then summed it up by adding that with Microsoft Dynamics, not only they will now work faster but can now help transform their customers’ workflows.
