According to Globo, Sourcebits’ developer resources and app design expertise will add to Globo’s product proposition that merges mobility management with mobile application development and expands Globo’s operations in North America.
“We stated our intention of expanding GLOBO’s footprint in North America a while ago,” said Costis Papadimitrakopoulos, CEO of GLOBO, in a press release. “Our first move was the acquisition of San Jose, California based Notify Technology last October. This acquisition reinforces our commitment to the US market, and gives us access to Sourcebits’ developer resources, customer relationships and a solid brand name.”
Costis added, “Enterprise mobility has moved beyond device, data and app management. Today’s customers also want a rich user experience and an elegant user interface. Now, with Sourcebits, GLOBO can excel in meeting customer demands for mobile application design and development. Most importantly, this gives us a sought after competitive edge.”
Founded in 2006, Sourcebits has delivered more than 500 apps for Android, BlackBerry, and Windows, including iTunes. With Fortune 500 customers wanting more cross-platform apps Costis believes Sourcebits will help extend Globo’s scope in meeting these demands. Additionally, Sourcebits has an established client base that includes Intel, SAP, P&G, Coca-Cola, Hershey’s, Bank of America and other leading brands.
Following the acquisition, the Sourcebits services team will continue its operations in San Francisco, and Bangalore, India.
