“The Epson LabelWorks LW-600P offers users a mobile device accessory that can be used anywhere to create labels for any situation – personal or business,” said Anna Jen, director, New Ventures/New Products, Epson America. “It reinvigorates an older product category with new features, new types of printable tapes and exciting possibilities that bring enhanced value to the market.”
The LW-600P is one of the smallest and lightest 24 mm label printers on the market. In addition to the Bluetooth connectivity that enables use with mobile devices, it boasts USB connectivity for use with traditional computers, print speeds of up to 15 mm per second at 180 dpi, and versatile tape widths of 6 mm to 24 mm.
The Epson iLabel app for iOS and Android offers new features that are not normally found in traditional label printing devices. These include a “true-view” preview capability that ensures labels match what’s on the screen, a handwriting function, speech-to-text transcription, in-app storage of created labels for future use, import capabilities for custom graphics such as logos, and the ability to create QR code and barcode labels for content sharing and inventory management.
The LW-600P provides an open-source development platform, which allows developers to create Android and iOS apps for specific uses. The product is currently available for purchase.
