EnGenius Technologies releases high density, high speed gigabit PoE+ switches

EnGenius Technologies releases high density, high speed gigabit PoE+ switches

Start-up businesses, SMBs or large enterprises can establish new and/or expand existing infrastructures with these two switches. These two switches enable the enhancement of network performance delivery and reliability, IP camera surveillance and wireless networking while being cost effective. These switches deliver gigabit data and come with layer 2 switching capabilities and PoE support. Licensing, recurring subscription and delivering cost are not necessary for deployment of these switches, thus lowering cost.

These two switches incorporate four SMP slots for fiber uplinks for long distance connectivity. These switches can be added to an existing rack of L2 and L3 switches and managed through intuitive Web interface or SNMP, support 802.1Q VLANs for enhanced convergence and bandwidth utilization and QoS to optimize video conferences and VoIP calls.

“The addition of the new switches to our Electron Series family provides businesses with the increased port density required for deploying or expanding wireless network infrastructures or rollouts of PoE devices such as VoIP phones or IP cameras,” stated Brian Watt, Product Marketing Manager at EnGenius, in a press release. “Our expanding family of switching products exceed the performance of enterprise-level networking brands for a much lower cost providing a very attractive price-to-performance ratio.”

This switch supports IEEE802.3at/af, has 48 gigabit PoE+ ports and has 740W to provide data speeds to PoE-enabled devices. For multicast, it also supports IEEE802.1X and RADIUS authentication, access control list / port security, IEEE802.3ad link aggregation, and IGMP and MLD snooping.

This supports IEEE802.3at/af, has 24 gigabit ports and has 370W and supports 802.1X port-based authentication, IGMP Snooping v1/v2/v3 and IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation.

The EGS7252FP and EGS7228FP switches are priced $1,299 and $799 respectively, come with limited warranties, and are available in North America.
