cPacket introduces unified performance monitoring 

With operational challenges taking new dimensions performance monitoring becomes more important with the trend toward application delivery in the cloud in complex infrastructures. cClear is the first unified solution for real-time monitoring in mixed environments of physical and virtual resources.

“While virtual networks enable flexible resource allocation, efficient use of these resources depends on the underlying physical implementation,” said Dr. Rony Kay, founder and CEO of cPacket, in a press release. “Optimising data centres requires correlated performance metrics across the virtual overlays and physical network connectivity. Also troubleshooting of intermittent applications requires insight into specific traffic in the virtual tunnels. Therefore, unified real-time visibility across both the virtual and physical boundaries becomes a must.”

The company claims that cClear is the first of its kind to provide real-time performance mapping of links, virtual tunnels, and apps’ behavior, which are not available with existing network monitoring tools . Existing network tools provide link utilization information that are limited, have bottlenecks, spikes and are inconsistent. cPacket says its hardware-software architecture provides analytics and visibility beyond what was previously possible.

cPacket’s Smart Ports, based on an algorithmic chip, are the core of the architecture that come with high-speed and cost-effective sensors. cClear correlates Smart Ports’ information to identify underlying physical network connectivity. The view obtained by information allows network managers to monitor traffic behaviors, critical bottlenecks, and make decisions.

cClear is offered free to existing customers of cPacket’s cVu-NG devices and SPIFEE’s centralized dashboard.
