Through this agreement, Couchbase chose Simba Technologies to create ODBC 3.8 and JDBC 4.0 connectivity drivers for the Couchbase NoSQL database.
“Simba’s ODBC and JDBC drivers will bring a new level of fast, seamless connectivity to Couchbase Server,” said Rod Hamlin, VP of Global Business Development, in a press release. “This integration will make it easier for data analysts—whether they’re using Tableau, Excel, QlikView, SAP Lumira, or any other BI app—to quickly access data in Couchbase Server.”
The partnership will enable Couchbase customers to access and analyze their NoSQL data from their business intelligence. Simba’s ODBC and JDBC connectors allow users to leverage back-end data-source capabilities.
The Simba SQL-92 engine supports aggregations scalar functions and will support N1QL, Couchbase’s SQL-like query language, now in developer preview.
