To accommodate Westman’s growing customer portfolio, the company will be deploying Hitron’s CGNM-2250 DOCSIS 3.0 WiFi Gateway. With rates nearing 960 Mbps and 24 bonded downstream channels, the CGNM-2250 will deliver bandwidth-intensive digital television and high-speed Internet services to consumers and businesses across Western Manitoba.
“Over the years, our relationship with Hitron has evolved into a true partnership because they have proven to be a very adapt vendor that develops and provides us with the technology we need to deploy our services and stay ahead of the market,” says Jeffrey DeSarno, Director, Network Services at Westman Communications.
Westman prides itself on its progressive and innovative tendencies. Because Hitron has been developing their own hardware and software since the company’s inception, they are able to offer the necessary flexibility for this undertaking.
“When you look at the cable service provider market in general, Westman has been a leading innovator in the Canadian market,” explains DeSarno. “Being more nimble and flexible than much larger competitors makes it easier for us to push the needle and roll out new leading-edge services to our customers.”
