Cisco’s threat-focused ASA with FirePOWER services provide businesses with a full contextual awareness and a set of dynamic controls that assist with threat assessment, intelligence correlation, and defense optimization for enhanced protection across all networks.
“In today’s climate of industrialized hacking and sophisticated cybercrime, we’ve entered an era in which legacy NGFW solutions are not enough to thwart attackers,” Christopher Young, SVP of Cisco’s security business group, said in a press release. “Now more than ever, organizations need to be able to implement dynamic controls to manage the pace of change of their environments and address security incidents. Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services is a major step forward for the NGFW market, empowering customers to deepen their protection from the data center, through the network, to the endpoint with the agility to identify, understand, and stop advanced threats in real-time and retrospectively.”
The new ASA system combines Cisco’s ASA 5500 Series firewall with application control, Next-Generation Intrusion Protection Systems, and Sourcefire’s Advanced Malware Protection. It provides users with multi-layered protection, improving upon previously-released NGFW solutions.
