CA Technologies claims that Bansal and Sunkara wrote a great deal of AppDynamics’ code while they were CA Technologies employees. The company claims it has the legal right to seek recourse against the pair.
CA Technologies is making this move to legally prove the claim that the code, as well as any other work, was written before the AppDynamics’ founders left the company, and also is seeking an injunction against AppDynamics for the financial and intellectual impairment caused.
The claims allege that Bansal and Sunkara, while employed with CA Technologies, developed an application performance monitoring (APM) product secretly to compete directly with the company’s products. CA Technologies maintains that this happened after it acquired Wily Technologies, its APM and engineers in 2006 and alleges that Bansal and Sunkara breached duties they owe under law and these actions violated agreements they were under with CA.
CA Technologies filed an infringement suit against AppDynamics Inc. last year in April.
