Amazon Canada launched “Alexa Loves Canada” month by introducing new Alexa experiences with the goal of helping Canadians look back in the past year with some help from their favourite Canadian artists. By simply saying, “Alexa, how do you feel about Canada?” or “Alexa, do you love Canada?” clients will experience new features every day in July. This also includes celebrating Canada month with music celebrities like Alanis Morissette, Johnny Orlanod, Josh Ramsay of Marianas Trench, Bobby Bazini Bazini, Shad, and the Reklaws. This partnership is an opportunity to be nostalgic about all things Canada with Alexa. Amazon also said that it will include a range of varied music from nine cities across the whole country with playlists created by Michael Buble, FouKi, Night Lovell, Tory Lanez, Lindsay Ell, Ria Mae, and more.
The CITY X ARTIST campaign started on June 26, 2020, and the mentioned artist-curated playlists were made available on Amazon Music Unlimited. “Amazon Music is thrilled to be collaborating with these incredible artists, and we hope that CITY X ARTIST will serve as a musical guide through the many sounds and genres that make our musical experiences across Canada so unique,” stated Mike Lawless, Head of Amazon Music for Canada.
Aside from music, Alexa will also be offering assistance in celebrating the holiday which included trip planning, Canadian recipes, the Drop-in feature to include relatives and friends who are faraway. All these are made exclusively available on Amazon Alexa.
